Dental FAQs

How long do I have to wait before my dental emergency is treated?

Western Clinic Dental offers a same-day emergency appointment in case of a dental emergency. Our team is trained and experienced in dealing with dental emergencies as quickly as possible. Call us on 0412 071 074 to request your emergency appointment. Or you request online.

How often is a regular dental check-up?

Regular dental check–ups are performed at least twice a year. During each visit your dentist will assess your oral health status and provide dental cleaning.

I’m pregnant. Do I need to tell this to my dentist?

Yes. It is very important that we know if you are pregnant. There are certain dental treatments that are temporarily off-limits during this time. Oral care is also important during pregnancy, as your teeth become vulnerable while your child continues to grow inside you.

I had a toothache. But it went away after administering first aid steps. Do I still need to see my dentist?

Yes. A toothache is only a symptom of an underlying dental issue developing in your mouth. The pain may have gone away but this doesn’t mean that the dental problem that caused it in the first place, has stopped developing.

Is root canal treatment painful?

Modern dentistry at Western Clinic Dental has made the root canal treatment nearly painless. Whatever pain and discomfort you may have will be after the surgery, and will be too low-level to cause much worry.

Do you cater to children dentistry under the CBDS?

Yes. Western Clinic Dental and the Australian government are partners when it comes to providing premium quality dental services to your child.

Our clinic is very happy to welcome you and your child for a fun-filled dental experience.

Is it necessary to replace my dentures?

There are a number of reasons that might compel you to replace your dentures. Progressive bone loss, for instance, can cause your dentures to move around or fall out. We suggest you visit us to have your dentures checked if they are due for a replacement.

I have crooked teeth but I don’t want to have metal braces. Is there another option for me?

Invisalign is an orthodontic option that straightens your teeth using clear, invisible aligners. They are nearly impossible to detect when worn, so you can still smile and talk confidently.

My dental crown fell out, but I was able to reattach it with dental cement. Do I still need to see a dentist?

Yes. Dental cement can only keep your dental crown in place temporarily. Only your dentist can properly reattach it so it can get back to its optimum performance.

I knocked out my tooth, but we were able to reinsert it. Do I still need to see a dentist?

Definitely. Only an X-ray can determine if the tooth is properly repositioned. Failure to visit your dentist can cause the risk of bite problems and infections.
